The Journal of Marine Engineering and Aquatic Sciences (JMEAS) is committed to maintaining the integrity, reliability, and transparency of the scientific record. The journal does not tolerate research misconduct or other practices that compromise the integrity of research and scholarly publishing.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are responsible for the accuracy, authenticity, and integrity of the work they submit to JMEAS. They must retain appropriate research records and, when reasonably requested by the journal, provide relevant data, documentation, ethical approvals, or other information necessary to verify the integrity of the work.
Handling Allegations of Misconduct
JMEAS takes all credible allegations of research misconduct seriously. When potential misconduct is identified before or after publication, the journal will conduct a fair, confidential, and objective assessment of the available information. Authors may be asked to provide explanations, original data, or other supporting documentation.
Where appropriate, JMEAS may contact the authors’ institution, research organization, funding body, or other relevant authority for further investigation. The journal will avoid making conclusions about misconduct before sufficient information has been obtained.
Editorial Actions
Depending on the nature and severity of the concern, JMEAS may take appropriate editorial action, including:
- requesting clarification or additional documentation;
- rejecting or withdrawing a manuscript under consideration;
- publishing a correction or other editorial notice;
- issuing an expression of concern;
- retracting a published article; or
- notifying relevant institutions or authorities where appropriate.
Any action affecting the published scholarly record will be taken transparently and in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policies and recognized international standards of scholarly publishing.
